Nails are an important feature of your hands. The better they are, the more beautiful your hands are. And who among us wont like to have a beautiful hand, ready to be kissed! But at the same time, our hands and nails suffer pretty brutally while we do all hard work to achieve our dreams. Now hold on, you dont need to rush to the parlor every weekend to get a treatment. You can do a simple French manicure at home to maintain healthy looking nails and beautiful hands.

A French manicure is a style of polishing your nails. White paint  first applied to the tips of the fingernails, and the rest of the nails are given a pink coat or painted with sheer polish that is colored either pale pink or very light beige. It is very good for short or moderate length nails. Here are a few simple steps to do a french manicure:

The steps are as follows:

Step 1

First set up your hands and nails for the french manicure by massaging your hands using a small amount of body scrub. Wash your hands in water and dry them properly. For record,a major cause of chapped hands is not drying them properly after a wash.

Step 2

After washing your hands and drying them properly, file your nails. If they are brittle or tend to split, keep it flat across the top with smooth, rounded edges. Note that you should move in one direction as you file your nails, from outer corner to centre-sawing movements can damage the nail plate.

Step 3

Coat the nails with sweet almond oil to nourish them. Roll the nails in a warm cloth for about 15 minutes. Wash your hands with warm water and as mentioned earlier, dry thoroughly to remove all the left overs.

Step 4

Apply a single coat of base nail polish over the entire nail and allow it to dry completely for a few minutes. This will strengthen your nails. Choose the best base coat from a huge range available in the market.

Step 5

Next use the pink polish to paint the nails. Sticky strips are also included in some French manicure packs to guide you well and give a neat finish. For a square look, paint straight and for a round appearance, follow the curve of the nails. Leave it to dry for some minutes.

Step 6

Lastly, apply the translucent shell pink nail polish to the entire nails to seal the whitened tip and also to complete the look. Allow it to dry for at least 10 minutes. Apply a clear glossy top coat for extra shine and protection.
